Whats my favourite Lipstick?

MAC Satin Lipstick - A27 Faux

I am 100% the world's most picky person when it comes to lipstick. I can go shopping, have millions of swatches on my hand, and yet no lipstick.
I went for years wearing absolutely no lipstick because I couldn't ever find my perfect lip colour.
Then one beautiful day in manchester, I discovered my love...
MAC faux. After a day of my usual swatching, I had pretty much given up hope until I tried one more time at the MAC counter.
I asked the assistant if she could recommend a nude colour that would suit me and that's when I was first introduced.
This gorgeous satin finish lipstick looks gorgeous on the lips. The slight taupe undertone makes this the perfect neutral shade for any occasion.
I sometimes find that MAC lipsticks aren't great for longevity but I actually found that this one lasts a decent amount of time.
This now has pride of place in my daily makeup bag and I have a feeling it's going to be there for a long time!!

10/10!!!

Maybelline Fit Me Powder

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder - 220 Natural Beige

I recently picked this up in my local boots as I had completely run out of my Rimmel Stay Matte and I was desperate for a replacement. In a bid to try something new I decided to hunt this down as i had seen a few Youtubers rave about the Fit Me range.

In my opinion, the shade finder wasn't great as I found that none of them really matched my skin tone and because the cards were glossy the light made it quite difficult to tell. Nevertheless, I managed to work it out and picked up shade 220 which is a natural beige shade. My first impressions of this product completely made up for the problems I had with the shade matcher.

I found it really easy to apply and although I didn't use the applicator provided my Real Techniques powder brush did the trick nicely. It mattified my makeup brilliantly without looking cakey and created a really smooth finish. As for longevity I did find that it wore off a little quicker than the Rimmel Stay Matte but didn't seem to go patchy like some other powders have done when wearing off.

Overall I have really enjoyed using this product. The shade range is brilliant and the little mirror in the packaging is a really nice feature for on the go touch ups. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

8/10

Strengths: Shade range, smooth finish, easy application

Weaknesses: Longevity, shade finder

Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimising Skin Refinisher

I recieved this sample along with a gift purchase a few months ago but didn't really use it until last month but let me tell you I am now stashing my savings for the full size!
I've never really been one for anything of the pore minimising variety but if I'm honest the amazing smell of this product really stood out so I decided to try it. At first I thought it was just going to make my skin greasy because it has quite an oily feel to it despite it being a cream but it was an absolute dream as a make-up base. It may not be the primary function of the product but I absolutely loved it under my foundation!
I started with this to see if I could see a difference in my pore size and although it did seem to even out my complexion slightly I cant say it was a huge difference however, the fact that it made my skin so smooth and made the mundane task of applying foundation so much easier definitely makes it a winner for me.
It also has moisturising benefits and on lazy days I even skip my moisturiser (naughty!) and use this as the only base before my foundation. I feel like it improved the longevity of my foundation and made it so much more even as well.
The sample size is 7ml and the full size bottles start at £40.00 which is a little on the steep side for my poor little student budget but I've been using the sample for a month now and its hardly gone down at all.
I think this is perfect for a quick all over smooth finish and it definitely feels luxurious on the skin.
I will definitely be rushing out as soon as I can for the full size!

Until next time lovelies <3

There's a first time for everything!

So here I am at last! After putting it off for fear of failure I am finally stepping out of the comfort zone and into the blogging world! I plan mostly to review products that I have tried along with posting weird and wonderful facts about my life that I assume someone out there will find interesting.
I hope that I can influence some lovely peoples choices on what to buy next or what to avoid to make them feel all beautiful inside.
I would love to be writing a blog that people see on a daily basis and can appreciate so heres to forever!
oh and please be nice to me because I'm the new kid on the block hehe.

Bye for now x
